Gozo has a rich history and has also been blessed a number of scenic spots that are guaranteed to make any trip to the island an unforgettable one. The island boasts countless attractions that will keep you busy throughout your visit, regardless of whether you want to unwind and relax, soak yourself in the area’s history, or do something adventurous.

The most popular and well-known attraction in Gozo is the Ġgantija, which is a group of the oldest freestanding temples anywhere in the world. These temples have been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and are definitely worth a visit.

The island is dotted with a number of beautiful churches dating back to different periods, including St. George’s Basilica which was constructed way back in 1672. Many of the churches in Gozo are architecturally different from one another, reflecting the various historical influences on the island.

If history is not your thing, Gozo has some of the best scuba diving spots in the region. High visibility, calm waters and beautiful underwater wrecks, caves and reefs. The fascinating Blue Hole situated beneath the Azure Window is a popular attraction among divers visiting Malta.

There are countless places where you can just kick back and unwind from the stresses of everyday life. The island is home to various sandy beaches, unspoilt bays and coves that are perfect for soaking in the beautiful Mediterranean sun. If you want a little more adventure, there are a number of watersports you can partake in.

Although not many people visit Gozo to shop, there are many bargains to be purchased. The Arkadia Commercial Centre is a popular shopping mall where you can find both local and international brands at good prices. One thing’s for certain, if you are planning to visit Gozo, you will be spoilt for choice.
